The Courts of Chaos

The ruling house, now that Sawall's own son sits the Chaos throne. Mandor is said to be charming, patient, and never moves without knowing the board three moves ahead. The Lady Dara is mentioned in connection with Corwin and with schemes that predate the Patternfall War.

Military house. Produced the general Borel, who died at Patternfall. Rumored to be unreconciled to the peace. Belissa Minobee holds the Duchy; she is said to be direct and honest about her contempt for weakness.

Bureaucrats of the Courts. They profit from protocol and treaty infrastructure. Talmed holds a warlord title; probably more politician than soldier. They are said to have drafted the original armistice terms.

Less prominent than the other houses. Described as quick to find the angle. Possibly the most willing to deal with Amber openly — or possibly the most willing to tell you what you want to hear.

Intelligence brokers. Said to stay out of House politics in exchange for access to all of them. No named contacts in Amber's briefing files. If you need something, they may already know you need it.
